Local homeowners love these trends.
At Lensing, we sell and install entry doors for homeowners throughout the Evansville area. We’ve noticed a recent uptick in homeowners choosing these designs when replacing their front doors.
Trend 1: Goodbye sidelights.
We love a good pair of sidelights. However, sometimes you have to shake things up. We get it.
Many local homeowners are replacing their door and two sidelights with a set of French doors. You’d be surprised by how many local homes can accommodate the size of French doors. It’s adds a classic, tasteful aesthetic to a home.

Trend 2: Height matters.
Want to wow your guests, neighbors and passersby?
An 8-foot door just hits different – in a good way. These taller doors add a sense of grandeur to a home’s entry.
We’ve noticed an uptick in requests to remove transom windows to make room for taller doors. If you have a transom window above your entry door, chances are good your opening allows for a grandiose 8-foot door.

One more: Combining both trends.
In some cases, local homeowners are choosing 8-foot French doors to replace sidelights and a transom window. Talk about a transformation!
